Brighton Barks I One-to-one boarding and day care
Hello! We're Anneli & Paul, and we're a Swedish/British couple in our 40's, and we are offering one-to-one home boarding for dogs in our home. We are currently 'dogless', and love looking after dogs. We have no kids, and we are non-smokers.
We require a Meet and Greet before any dogs come to stay, to make sure your dog feels comfortable in our home. Please do not book directly without contacting us to arrange this first.
Brighton Barks - One-to-One Home Boarding and Doggy Day Care - No more kennels!
- 24/7 supervision
- 3-4 walks per day (acc to your wishes and instructions)
- daily text/picture/video updating, doggy Facetime/Skype
- feeding (you provide the food)
- administering of any oral medicines and other daily routines
- - and tons of love and cuddles on the sofa!
We lost our beloved Cassius in 2013, a 13 year old rescue labrador, after having 8 wonderful years with him. We would love the opportunity to pass our love, care and affection on to your precious dogs. It gives us a much needed "dog fix" as we are not looking to get a new dog of our own just yet; we would like to do some more travelling first.
We spent the spring 2014 as house sitters through trustedhousesitters.com, looking after 1 Bull mastiff, 1 American Mastiff, 1 Bull Mastiff/Staffy cross, 1 Akita and also a little Yorkie. Since then, we have continued boarding and occasionally house sitting for the above mentioned dogs and also several lurchers (collie x whippet, greyhound x saluki x deerhound) and a staffy.
Anneli: I work completely from home as a Swedish language trainer via Skype, so I am always at home. I can give your dog 3-4 walks per day (early morning, lunch time, late afternoon and late evening), regardless of my work schedule.
Paul: I work as a general manager within the food and drinks industry. I work mostly from home in central Brighton, and occasionally travelling to London and Norwich for meetings. I am also a member of a dog friendly golf club a 10 min car journey away!
We live in a 2 bed terraced house in central Brighton, only 1 minute walk from a large dog friendly park, 10 min walk from Queen's Park and about 15 min walk from Brighton beach. We have a decked outdoor space (pic 7) with a small 'doggy pee' area with chipped wood (pic 8). We also have a car (+ doggy car seat belt) so we are within driving distance from South Downs.
Due to our circumstances, we are currently not boarding younger dogs (puppies). We are however totally fine with adult as well as older, more frail ones, and we are used to administer tablets and oral medicines, as well as care for dogs with arthritis, hip dysplasia, skin-related/allergy issues and general age-related illnesses.
Also, day boarding may be a challenge for us at the moment, but will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
Check-in: early afternoon and onwards
Check-out: midday (by the latest)
We require a Meet and Greet before any dogs come to stay, to make sure your dog feels comfortable in our home. Just get in touch and we'll get it booked in.
Looking forward to hear from you!

Other clients' reviews of Anneli
Lovely people genuine dog lovers and coped well with our very high energy lovable rescue monster. Went out of their way to accommodate his special needs, very thankful for finding them.
Anneli was great, flexible with our plans and very accommodating. We think Ruby really enjoyed her stay as well
Sandi had another stay with Anneli and Paul. She has such a lovely time there- gets lots of love and attention and great care. Anneli and Paul are really flexible and helpful. They're reliable and genuinely love dogs! I have no hesitation in sending Sandi to stay with them on future occasions.
Anneli and Paul took great care of Sandi. She got lots of love and cuddles and they took time to know her and her routines. The form that Anneli completes about each dog is a great idea. Sandi had a wonderful time and we felt completely relaxed about leaving her in their care. Sandi can't wait to see them again!
Sparkie says she would like us to go away more as she loves staying with Anneli and Paul. She says they take her to places on the downs we have never been and that she gets even more cuddles their than she does at home. She thinks it should be 5 paws rather than stars. Woof woof
This stay was a bit trickier logistically as Anneli had to pick Sparkie up from friends and then co-ordinate with another friend to come and pick Sparkie up. She did this all with her usual grace and ease. I felt very confident that Anneli would be at the right place at the right time and that I didn't need to worry the dog logistics. It would all be fine and I was right, it was. We got lovely photos of Sparkie looking very very much at home at Anneli's. It feels nice to know the dog is having as good a holiday as you are.
"Woof-tastic as always." (say's sparkie)
Sparkie had a great time with Anneli. Anneli was kind enough to send us photo's whilst we were away which were really comforting to see.
