Oddie (Oddison) is a Staffy that we adopted in April. He was abandoned by his previous owner and then transferred between a few different rehoming centres before finding his forever home with us. ? He is an older boy yet still has a lot of youth left in him! He's a clever dog able to sit, stay, lay, high five, paw and even speak on command! We're looking to have Oddie looked after whilst we go away for 10 days as we don't want him back in a kennel. Oddie loves all people, young and old HOWEVER we have learnt that we must be weary. Oddies previous owners were not nice people and were often fighting and shouting. Oddie is very uncomfortable scared and protective if voices are rased or someone unknown opens the front door without you first answering it or telling him it's ok. Oddie really is not at all viscous but I feel that this information must be shared with you. He's also not good with other dogs. He tends to 'stalk' when we pass other dogs on a walk but other times he will pass with not even the slightest recognition. We have tried putting a muzzle on him for walkies, he's quite willing to allow us to put it on him however as soon as we step out the door he's able to remove it! This has led us to only walking him in later in the evening when we're less likely to meet other dogs. We have not yet experienced another dog running towards oddie with no lead on, however we don't know what would happen in this circumstance. We imagine he would go for another dog if it came bounding up to him. As an older dog if you would rather not walk him for the period we are away I think that will be ok (especially if he can run arround in the garden!) Enough of the negative talk...Oddie really is ever so kind caring and sweet, he just needs someone able to understand that he may need a little extra care. He LOVES belly rubs and will roll on his back when he wants you to tickle him. He's house trained and we've never had an accident (fingers crossed). Also he loves playing with the garden hose. ? He's sweet, charming and wears a bow tie! He's our favourite old man. ?
