Beagle

Born and brought up in Delhi, India we adopted Gulab and her brother Jamun eighteen months ago when living there, and brought them with us to Edinburgh in December. They've adjusted really well, and actually prefer the cooler weather. Now that we have a small garden in our new flat they are also able to be outside whenever they want to. They're quite typical beagles - really good natured and very sociable, they love people and other dogs, and will do almost anything for a snack! They're also ruled by their noses - nothing is more exciting than a new smell, including listening to their owners calls, and that means you can't take them off the lead in a space that isn't fenced. Luckily we have access to the Queen Street Gardens which is doggy heaven for them, and a chance for them to run free with their canine buddies. They've been trained to come back to the sound of a clicker - 90% reliable with Gulab, a little less so with Jamun :) Jamun can be a bit 'pully' on the lead, but they now have HALTI harnesses which have really helped to keep them calm and focused.
