Border Collie

She loves playing, exercise, water and car rides especially. She loves to be near and around people and doesn't like being on her own (she will follow you to the loo if you let her!). She's great company and a great character. She's a bit shy when first meeting new people, but soon warms to them. Although people say dogs don't have a sense of humour, I have to disagree. Luka particularly has a "smile" when she's up to something (like sticking toys under your bum as you just go to sit down) - if you meet her, you'll know what I mean. She doesn't mix well with other dogs and tends to get defensive if cornered by them. However, if she is off the lead and out walking, she simply avoids them by hiding or running around them. For some reason, she does not like cats. No idea why, but they seem to annoy her - that and big pigeons. Other than that, she's pretty low maintenance for a border collie. She's a good dog and doesn't jump on furniture, (unless you encourage her for fuss). She doesn't damage property and will leave your stuff untouched. She does have a thing about peddle bins, she'll paw/knock them around the kitchen, but doesn't seem to bother about the contents! Maybe she finds them offensive, I've no idea! Like most dogs, she doesn't like fireworks and tends to get a bit clingy and skittish, but nothing too dramatic. When out on walks, if she sees water, she will jump in it and loves to swim and play in the water. Great if it's clean, but if it's not she'll stink the house out - something that dogs don't seem to care about, but definitely something you'll want to bare in mind. :)
