About Viktoria

I owned my first dog since I was 7 years old after a stubborn rebellion against my parents. 20 years after, I have adopted 2 small rescue dogs and have a lot of experience with dogs of different ages and characters, as I have been pet sitting for family and friends. I have a strong interest in learning about dog behaviour and training, and I have a very special bond with dogs, so I would love to learn more about your fur-baby and welcome them into our home. As a pet owner myself, I can empathise with the anxieties around leaving your precious dog at a pet sitter when going away, and I will ensure that you get regular updates and photos and create a safe space for a stress-free vacation. Beyond the benefits of getting my dogs to socialise, I would love to offer my pet care services and give back to the pet owners community. As your dog would be interacting with other dogs, please let me know whether your dog has any allergies or whether they are up to date with flea treatments and booster vaccinations. If you have any concerns just reach out, and we can work around it. I am currently working full time from home, so your pets will never be left alone which means plenty of play time, affection and flexible toilet breaks. I have a pet camera at home to make sure that dogs are supervised, if I have to leave the house for a short period of time. On rainy days, I love to play games that stimulate their senses in the house and go for a walk to the nearby parks. When the weather allows, I love to get active and go on lengthy nature walks. I will give your dog all the attention and affection and ensure that I provide a good balance of socialisation and space. My dogs are friendly and have a very special bond with each other. They love to socialise but are equally understanding of dogs that require their own space and enjoy playing independently. My dogs have a lot of experience of living with other dogs from a very young age as they spend their puppy years with my family's senior dog as well as other dogs in our previous house share. I have recently moved in a two-bedroom house with an extra small room, so there is plenty of space to keep pets separated and supervise interaction time. I don't have a garden, but I'm located really close to parks (Town Meadows and Burghley House Gardens & Deer Park) and often go for walks. My partner occasionally stays with me, and she could be giving me a helping hand whenever she is around. She has a caring nature with animals and a lot of experience through looking after family dogs as well as co-parenting our two rescue dogs. Through my experience of both as a pet owner and looking after other people's dogs, I pay special attention to your pet's body language, needs, likes/dislikes and work in a preventive way to avoid any triggers or signs of discomfort and ensure that I follow your pet's routine and dietary requirements. I have trained my rescue dogs along with my partner and taught them to live together in harmony. When one of my dogs struggled with resource guarding issues during feeding time, I implemented reward-based training and focused on creating a positive bond with my dogs through discipline and spatial boundaries. Feeding time is treated with care to make all pets feeling safe and prevent triggering behaviours. I have a designated sleeping area for my dogs, but your pet is welcome to sleep wherever they feel most comfortable. I have extra space, that your fur-baby can stay in at night if they need their space. But if your pet would feel more at ease being with their guardian, I am more than happy to set up their sleeping area in my room or downstairs where my dogs sleep.
